melting electrical plug?
I have a 48 amp 240 volt kiln. Every time I run it, I notice the plug is melting around the prongs. Now I am noticing some melting around one of the holes in the outlet. Why is this happening? Is the plug maybe not rated high enough to handle the amperage the kiln is drawing? Thanks!
the electrical plug is underrated to the amperes of the device. my suggestions is, remove the electrical plug then use a circuit breaker instead of electrical plug. circuit breaker is more advisable because it can detect the abnormalities of the circuit and automatically open a circuit to avoid fire.
